More Windows 7 moe themes

When Microsoft released Windows 7 last year, the Ultimate version for Japan came bundled with an exclusive Aero theme featuring the cute Windows 7 mascot Madobe Nanami.

Nanami is voiced by Mizuki Nana who also did Fate in the “Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha” series, Touma in “Minami-ke” and many others. Had been using the theme pack for some time, though did set personal wallpapers instead of the included ones.

Recently Microsoft gave Nanami no less than five new companions for their campaign to promote their Bing search engine in Japan. Each character has two sets of theme packs which include slightly different sounds, resulting in ten different themes to try.

The five new girls are the older office lady type Nanae voiced by Eriko Nakamura, the energetic younger girl Nana who is voiced by Ai Matayoshi, the childhood friend type Nanako voiced by Juri Takita, the tech gothic twin-tailed Nanami who is voiced by Asami Imai and the tomboyish Nanao, voiced by Saki Fujita.

While the window colors associated with some of the girls may not appeal to all, like the pink tones for Nanako or purple for Nanami… and each girl only has two unique wallpapers (the third wallpaper features all five girls), really do like the designs and sound packs.

So far Nanako is my favorite and have been using her theme pack, she’s irresistibly cute, especially her included sounds are great, like ”また会えるよね” or ”愛のメセージです”.

You could previously download the theme packs at Microsoft’s Bing campaign pages, but it seems these have been moved or closed down in the meantime. Nonetheless, you can still find all the theme packs collected in these zip archives, both the default theme packs as well as the alternative versions.

Windows 7 users can run the theme packs as is, Windows XP and Windows Vista users will need to download the zip files instead.
