Miura Akane art
Had previously mentioned the upcoming new “K-ON!!” character Miura Akane, who has since been confirmed as a fan creation, spawned from a challenge on Yunakiti to create a new “K-ON!” character in manga author Kakifly’s style.
Regardless of Akane being an unofficial character, she may very well gain popularity, much like the emergence of Kyonko, the gender-bent version of Kyon from “The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi” which took the otaku world by storm now long ago.
Adorable illustration of Akane by 七市 (Pixiv), love the painting-like style with a subdued, pastel atmosphere and the pose and expression are terrific, really make Akane look like a cute, but hesitant, shy girl.
Though not sure if the “K-ON!” cast would need another shy character, Mio already fills that role, and the shy-to-a-fault bass player does so quite well. Do take a peek at artist 七市 their Pixiv profile, there’s more nice images with that same art style.

Artist Kimuti-G (Pixiv, nsfw) shows an interesting hypothetical setting for Akane to join the light music club.
What if next to Azusa, Ui picks the guitar back up since she showed more potential than Yui and Jun joins as well? With Akane that would make four, so it could work! Though not with Akane playing tuba of course…

Swiftly nicknamed デビちゃん, it’s too early to say if Akane will really rise to the same level of popularity as say Kyonko, nonetheless new fan art creations are popping up left and right on image sites like Pixiv.
Be that as it may, as a “K-ON!” fan I hope the second season of the anime is as good or better as the first one, and can’t wait for it to start. As far as Akane goes, for a fan creation she’s cute!

Actually am quite new at using Pixiv and was initially surprised at the content, not what I had expected. In fact shall talk about that sometime soon in a blog post.

The first series had terrific pop/rock tunes, do look forward to more of that. Often play the K-ON! singles and soundtrack, great music.
Excellent art indeed and completely believable as a K-On! character as well. The style looks very similar to the real deal.
