Yoko summer sun fun
On a warm summer day when the sun is shining its warmth down upon us, how could the lovely Yoko not take advantage of such gorgeous weather? Deciding to have some fun under the sun, it was time for Yoko to don her beach gear and leisurely lounge about.
So let’s watch the photos of Yoko’s day out in the sun! ヨーコちゃんちょうかわいい!
Seriously, I felt like taking advantage of some auspiciously good weather and instead of simply sitting outside without much to do, opted for a photoshoot with the then still newly arrived Yoko.
Next to their irresistibly cuteness, Dollfie Dream ball jointed dolls really do make terrific photo subjects.

Although am happy with how most of these shots turned out, this is one of my personal favorites from the entire set. The pose, sunlight and sudden gust of wind that made Yoko’s ponytail float up make an excellent synergy.
Before heading out into the sun of course Yoko had to change, it seems that someone was able to make a few sneaky shots of her quarters in the Gurren Lagann den.
Do hope to pose her in the original outfit again sometime as Yoko’s boots are simply awesome. One has to acknowledge Gainax for designing such an outrageous, yet undeniably cool outfit.
Actually, white boots and pink thigh highs aren’t exactly that novel if you take look at Faye Valentine from “Cowboy Bebop”. Could Yoko’s default gear be an homage of sorts from Gainax to Faye’s character?
You’ll no doubt have observed the background setting isn’t a sandy beach or sea shore, but a humble grass field. Wasn’t keen on dragging a newly acquired Dollfie to a beach full of abrasive sand and judging stares of the narrow-minded boorish masses.
Found a small towel in a yellow color perfectly matching Yoko’s cute beach outfit.
The towel rested on a sturdy piece of cardboard, ensuring a stable surface to place the Dollfie on. However, due to this the towel’s edges look a bit as if they’re floating.
Took all of these photos with my Canon Eos 450D camera, using the EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM lens, equipped with a polarizing filter. Although I originally started from a tripod, the abundant light allowed me to switch to shooting freehand.
Am pleased with the Canon EF-S 15-85mm lens performance in these photos. Although I’ve noticed am not getting similar performance under low light conditions, even with a tripod, wonder if that may be due to lens itself or the 450D’s capabilities.
Dollfies can be so cute! Took these photos some time ago actually, shortly after Yoko arrived, seeing them now it kind of makes me melancholic about her default wig, though I do adore her new look even more.
With her default wig being challenging to maintain and desiring to keep it in pristine condition, opted to safely store it now that she’s got some alternate wigs from Leeke.
Dollfie comrade and connoisseur Wolfheinrich had warned me that the DDDy body type isn’t able to sit up straight very well and indeed, trying to achieve a perfect 90° position of the legs relative to the abdomen piece seems next to impossible.
Didn’t add thumbnails for all the photos I made else this post would have become far too cluttered, so make sure you check out the full photo set of Yoko’s summer fun on Flickr.
Took lots of photos this past weekend as well, so hope you look forward to seeing them.

And what did the other people looked when you were taking pictures with your lovely Yoko? xD
Awesome photos! I believe I may have a solution to the staining problem of YHP. I’m going to try it out tomorrow and let you know how it goes…
Nice! Yoko looks like she is really enjoying the sunny weather
Haha, exactly what i wanted to say, like GREW!

@GREW

Was an auspiciously gorgeous day, not that warm but the sun was really out.
@Fabrice
Yes, somehow Yoko does well with over the shoulder/looking back poses.
I guess thats the price you have to pay for a visually appealing abdomen: less moveability.
You cant have both I fear,atlesat I wouldnt know of a solution that would ensure both
This almost makes me want to go out and hunt a Yoko Dollfie to go with my Nia. Yoko’s hair is gorgeous in the sunlight.
