Canceling some figure reservations

May 14, 2010

Recently spent a sizable budget on adopting my first Dollfie, the lovely Yoko from “Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann”. While Yoko herself came at an interesting price, subsequent related purchases such as Dollfie care items, outfits and wigs all quickly added up.

Considering this and being faced with an acute lack of space in my Detolf cabinet, decided to be reasonable and cancel a few figure reservations. After the arrival of Alter Yui from Hobby Link Japan, all that remained were some reservations at Hobby Search.

With regret, canceled orders for Max Factory’s Figma of Rider from “Fate/stay Night”, Alter’s Vivio from “Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS” and Good Smile Company’s Misaki Mikoto from “To Aru Kagaku No Railgun”. Of course, did not cancel Alter’s upcoming figure of Azusa which I am quite looking forward to.

There’s many figures I’d love to add to my collection but prefer to keep it concise so I can appreciate those figures that I do have more. Plus, although passion is paramount, reason must also have its voice.

    Oooh that’s some cancellation there… I should get Misaka ordered, but I don’t know if I should order or wait for one of the stores here to have it. My recent blog template update made me realize how much I love Misaka. I’m thinking of cancelling Rider as well since I got two Riders recently, but I may have a story for Rider in my 4koma >.>

    Oh well it’s good to limit yourself especially after a Dollfie. Sometimes I don’t have that limit ^^;

    Well, I do like Misaka and the GSC figure looks good, but not that good that I absolutely must add her to my collection.
    Trying to put some limits on the spending it’s best to let reason take over a bit, especially considering an outfit for a Dollfie can quickly cost as much as a normal figure.

    Well this is better than spending all your money on those figures and then theyre staying in a dark corner in their box because you dont have the space to display them.

    You canceled Misaki =/
    shame that had to happen.

    that would be impossible for me to cancel her! <3

    but i also agree with what Blowfish said.

    @Blowfish
    Indeed! I’d feel terrible to have a figure that would just sit there boxed, never to be admired or enjoyed. Prefer to not buy or sell them then.
    @Fabrice
    The GSC Misaki figure is nice, but not that nice imho.

    Sorry to hear that you have to cancel Misaka and Azunyan. But you did get to spend your budget on a dollfie. ^ ^

    btw. good self-control!

    AM on a similar boat except for me it’s saving up for a PS3, getting the Starcraft 2 CE and Blazblue Continuum Shift that’s cutting into my fig bufget, luckily I got a cheaper alternate source for my fig so mostly had to do some order juggling :p

    I guess that was bound to happen, I have not had a PVC figure since Orchid Seed Seena.

    Cancellation are not nice. I hesitated to buy Misaki figure, but even if I like character and Railgun, she is a little too simple.. Choice.. Choice.. Choice.. ^^’

    Self-control is necessary sometimes. ^^;;
    @Devastator001
    Shame budgets aren’t limitless. Then again if we would have everything we desire instantly, what would there be left to live and dream for?
    @Wolfheinrich
    Well my Detolf being full and having spent such on Yoko, moderation is best.
    @Leonia
    Isn’t she? She has a very tough expression and is just a tad lackluster…
