K-ON!! Op & Ed singles
Although they have been out since a bit, the Op and Ed singles for “K-ON!!”, the second season of the popular anime adaptation of Kakifly’s manga, prove to be chart toppers.
Whether it is due to the anticipation of having to live up to the first season singles, although I do like this new season’s opening and ending, am not as impressed by them as the terrific “Cagayake! Girls” and “Don’t say ‘lazy’”.
Favor “Listen!!”, lovely track with lead vocals by Yoko Hikasa (Mio), although I still prefer the mix they used in the anime ending sequence. The second song on the single, “Our Magic” is a nice upbeat tune.
While “Go! Go! Maniac” is a very eclectic track with nice music, am not all that fond of the high pitched singing of Aki Toyosaki (Yui) in it. The other track “Genius…” accompanies “Go! Go! Maniac” quite nicely, it’s a more sedate song that still has plenty of rhythm.
The included booklets contain lyrics and feature illustrations of the girls individually, while they are all illustrated together on the cover. I do adore the fashionable look of the girls in “Listen!!”
Which of these songs do you prefer? Do you find “Listen!!” and “Go! Go! Maniac” as good or perhaps better than “Cagayake! Girls” and “Don’t say ‘lazy’”?

IMHO the OP from the first season was better, and as for EDs, I think I like Don’t say lazy better too
I like 1st season opening (Cagayake Girls) better and 2nd season ending (Listen) better.
My favourite song out of the four is “Don’t Say ‘Lazy’”
Even tought i prefer the songs from season 1, Listen! is really not bad =)
I bought the singles, should receive it soon, but from ep 7 theres a new insert song, very nice ^^
Looks like “Don’t say ‘lazy’” is still one of the preferred songs. ^^
Have warmed up to “Go! Go! Maniac” but myself still most often will prefer the first seasons’ tracks.
