A few flower macro photos

October 30, 2010

Had added a few macro photos made recently of some flowers on Flickr but hadn’t shared them here yet. Nothing better than a lovely bouquet of blooming flowers or some flowers outside basking in the last warm rays of the sun before fall temperatures drop too low.

When possible, I break out the macro lens and tripod to snap a few photos of such colorful subjects.

Vibrant flower

Love this particular flower, it was so vibrant and full of tiny details like some of its pollen that spread from the stamens over the petals.

Flower macro

Noticed that it is more difficult to accurately capture pink and light purple hues with the Canon 450D, flowers along that range of the color spectrum can be more challenging to photograph.

Flowers in the sun

Like to admire flowers, being able to capture details with the camera that I else can not discern with the naked eye is quite fun.

You can always see more flower photos on my Flickr photostream.

Oooh the second one is really nice.

I like the ones that focuses on the middle of the flowers. You really captured some nice details we usually don’t have the chance to see. It’s beautiful.

Thanks! Yes, it’s amazing how such lenses can capture minute details. One else wouldn’t think such flowers to be so intricate.
