More Allean art

Saw another great illustration today at Moe Imouto of the lovely Allean (Arein / アレイン), the “Queen’s Blade” character created by Matsuryu (松竜).
Apparently the image originates from the “Queen’s Blade ~The Exiled Virgin~” volume 5 book and showcases a more sensual and playful side of the combat instructor.
Allean looks stunning in this illustration, especially as the more relaxed -even teasing- pose of her eating a strawberry is different from the art we usually see of the elf where she is portrayed more serious, with an intense gaze.
You can see more of Matsuryu’s terrific artwork of Allean here, as well as in the “Queen’s Blade – Allean” book for which the artist originally designed the character.
Rangetsu C76 doujin ‘Noise Pollution’

Spotted these terrific “Code Geass” illustrations and wanted to share them with you. From the fan book titled ‘Noise Pollution’ released at Comiket 76 by artist Rangetsu (website, Pixiv) from the circle Creayus, they are excellent artworks.
Hadn’t seen this book before, nor read about the artist but the styling and coloring is quite good. Although rather short at only 12 pages, it is an all color book exclusively filled with full page illustrations.

Especially like that for a “Code Geass” book, there’s many illustrations showcasing C.C. and Lelouch together, focusing on the excellent lead pair these two characters formed.
Not always very well visible in these resized thumbnails but was very much intrigued and pleased to see how well and subtly Rangetsu rendered C.C.’s lips.

Shino C76 doujin ‘K-L’

Spotted these terrific “K-ON!” illustrations online so wanted to share them with you.
Created by artist Shino (homepage, Pixiv) from the circle Eefy, the art comes from the doujin titled “K-L” (which stands for K-ON! Love) that was released at Comiket 76.

Lovely artwork of the light music club girls all together, like how the artist perfectly managed to render each of the girls’ facial expression to match their character. The whole piece feels very lively and bright, without actually looking like the colors are over-saturated.
While you do get an indication already in the above image, the other illustrations really show how Shino plays with light and shade to create spectacular lighting effects on the characters and background.

Mahiru Izumi C76 doujin ‘Mio Love’
October 3, 2009 at 9:04 pm | In Mahiru Izumi | 3 CommentsTags: Akiyama Mio, C76, Doujinshi, ecchi, K-ON!, Mahiru Izumi
The last book of my C76 loot that arrived a while back is the “みおラブ” (Mio love) doujin by Mahiru Izumi (泉まひる, homepage nsfw).
In tradition with Mahiru Izumi’s previous Comiket releases, the book is a typical hentai doujin, all black and white with a color cover, here also accompanied by a double side illustration card.
As the title suggests the doujin is “K-ON!” themed, all about everyone’s favorite bass guitar player, Akiyama Mio!
Have always loved Mahiru Izumi’s style and was quite impressed with the artist’s latest releases, so took a chance and bid on this Mio book.

Kantoku C76 ‘5年 Memorial’ review

Next to Tony Taka’s “Collect 1” artbook, the C76 release “5年 Memorial” of renowned artist Kantoku is one of the Comiket books I’m most enthusiastic about.
From the circle “Afterschool of The 5th Year” (5年目の放課後), Kantoku is an artist whose style I immediately adored after spotting the first individual illustrations on assorted sites.

Just under 60 pages, the full color book is larger than the A4 size and has sturdy cover pages for a soft cover book.
Paper quality is excellent, each page feels thick and solid, the print is very crisp and thanks to the slightly mat paper there is little reflection or glare, except from darker color areas.
