Spotted these terrific “K-ON!” illustrations online so wanted to share them with you.
Created by artist Shino (homepage, Pixiv) from the circle Eefy, the art comes from the doujin titled “K-L” (which stands for K-ON! Love) that was released at Comiket 76.
Lovely artwork of the light music club girls all together, like how the artist perfectly managed to render each of the girls’ facial expression to match their character. The whole piece feels very lively and bright, without actually looking like the colors are over-saturated.
While you do get an indication already in the above image, the other illustrations really show how Shino plays with light and shade to create spectacular lighting effects on the characters and background.

Mahiru Izumi C76 doujin ‘Mio Love’

The last book of my C76 loot that arrived a while back is the “みおラブ” (Mio love) doujin by Mahiru Izumi (泉まひる, homepage nsfw).
In tradition with Mahiru Izumi’s previous Comiket releases, the book is a typical hentai doujin, all black and white with a color cover, here also accompanied by a double side illustration card.
As the title suggests the doujin is “K-ON!” themed, all about everyone’s favorite bass guitar player, Akiyama Mio!
Have always loved Mahiru Izumi’s style and was quite impressed with the artist’s latest releases, so took a chance and bid on this Mio book.

Bakutendou C76 doujin ‘Acperience 07 Tehepero’

By artist Bakutendou (爆天童) of the likewise named circle, ‘Acperience 07 Tehepero’ is a full color illustration book released at Comiket 76.
Ran into this “K-ON!” doujin by chance, hadn’t noticed it before so never looked out for it during my search for C76 books. A shame I didn’t get it as it’s a terrific visual fan book full of cute illustrations of my favorite light music club members, Akiyama Mio and Nakano Azusa.
Could only totally adore this illustration book focusing on Mio and Azusa as it’s filled to the brim with excellent art of these two lovely けいおん girls with just the right amount of implicit yuri undertone.

C76 loot has arrived

Terrific surprise today, my Comiket 76 artbooks finally arrived!
Had previously mentioned the four C76 items I was lucky enough to acquire, Kantoku’s “5年 Memorial” and Tony Taka’s “Collect 1 T2 Art Works” full color artbooks, as well as Goto-P’s “放課後フオトグラフ” color illustration doujin and Mahiru Izumi’s “みおラブ” black and white doujin.
Sifted through each of them and am very glad I bought these books, they’re all absolutely amazing with terrific art, even the ero doujin is surprisingly excellent.
Am pleased with the deputy service quality by Shopping Mall Japan, they responded swiftly to inquiries, packed the items securely with each book in it’s own zip bag and shipped them out timely.
Alas their good service ethics were not mirrored by customs who saw it fit to hold on to my parcel for over seven business days!

Kagome C76 doujin “Jangling Automaton”

Showcased some of artist Kagome’s “K-ON!” illustrations when I previously spoke of the Character Image Song albums for Azusa, Ritsu and Tsumugi.
From the circle ‘Traumatize’, Kagome (籠目, homepage, Pixiv) released the “K-ON!” centric doujin ‘Jangling Automation’ at Comiket 76.
Many artists have drawn the light music club girls in their outfits from the anime ending sequence animation to “Don’t Say Lazy”, but don’t often see illustrations that place the girls in a background that perfectly fits those outfits, which Kagome achieved to do here.
Really like Kagome’s style, always prone to adore the work of artists who render cute girls using such a style or similar, and here it’s coupled with excellent coloring and shading.
