Happy New Year! あけましておめでとうございます。今年もよろしくおねがいします。 Auguri buon anno!
I wish everyone a fantastic 2009 filled with lots of joy, laughter, success, fun and that you may enrich your life every day.

As far as New Year’s resolutions go, I plan on continuing with Japanese class and having fun learning the language, enjoying anime and my other interests, working on this blog, expanding my career or taking it in a different direction if it cannot evolve,… mostly just enjoying life to the fullest and making something of this journey.

Speaking of Japanese, ‘hatsuyume’ (初夢) is the Japanese tradition around the first dream one has in the new year. The contents of that dream supposedly indicate the amount of luck you will have in that year.
They consider it very good fortune if one dreams of mount Fuji, a hawk or an eggplant in their hatsuyume, also called ‘ichi Fuji’ (一富士), ‘ni taka’ (二鷹) and ‘san nasubi’ (三茄子). (Meaning one Fuji, two hawk, three eggplant.)

While I did not dream of any of those three, my first dream of the year starts off 2009 by featuring aliens, human cyborg replicants, flying in space,… I even dreamt they announced that “Toradora!” will have a sequel called “Toradora Yuri!”.
Well, a whole new level of craziness has been achieved for sure! Though I’m really liking that sequel idea as a yuri series, maybe I should write Yuyuko Takemiya and JC Staff a note about it?

What did your first dream of 2009 contain? (Worksafe tales only please.)

    Happy New Year! 🙂

I don’t recall very well my first dream of 2009, but I think it was something about angels.
