“Maria†Holic” Shidou Mariya figure

Figure maker Orchid Seed, usually known for creating rather daring figures is making a figure of Shidou Mariya from “Maria†Holic”.

The figure is due out in August for an advised retail price of ￥7,400, a fair price for a 1/7 scale size PVC figure these days.

Saw the figure is already available for pre-order at HobbyLink Japan, J-List and Hobby Search.

Quite impressed by the overall pose of the figure, gorgeous hairstyle and exquisitely rendered uniform, looking very nice there.

Alas, while the master figure used for these promotional images does look terrific, I’m not convinced by the face, it looks too round and not quite enough like Mariya.

Still, it’s a very tempting figure, haven’t seen any other “Maria†Holic” figures around so kind of feels too good to pass up on this one.

Don’t own any Orchid Seed figures though so I’m wondering what their quality is like.
Any of you have Orchid Seed figures? How is their quality?

Looks like the figure will be partially cast-offable, the skirt being removable to display Mariya’s underwear which seems to come with two possible choices, white pinkish pantsu or black bloomers.

Though before I get lost admiring the daring pose of the figure which has Mariya teasingly holding up her skirt and the changeable pantsu option, I can only recall the wise words of Admiral Ackbar from “Star Wars”.
