K-ON! figures coming

July 26, 2009

AkibaHobby and Hobbystock both report on Wonder Festival 2009 (ワンダーフェスティバル2009), confirming plenty of “K-ON!” figures are in the making, no doubt coming our way soon.

Alter showcases completed scaled PVC figures of Yui and Mio.

Alter Mio

Portrayed in their school uniforms and holding their instruments in a dynamic pose, both figures look terrific with lots of detailing on the instruments and spot on facial sculpts for both Mio and Yui.

The figures are respectively slated for a November and December release, not sure about the scale but seems to be the standard 1/8 scale.
Their painted surface look rather shiny, that could just be the photos though.

Alter Yui

Alter has been making some amazing figures lately, will definitely get these of the “K-ON!” girls!
Now hope they make figures of Azusa, Tsumugi and Ritsu too.

Good Smile Company K-ON nendoroids

Good Smile Company shows a set of very cute nendoroid figures of the four main light music club members. While Tsumugi and Ritsu are still in the unpainted prototype phase, the Yui and Mio ones look like they’re finished master versions.

Looks like Good Smile Company will include instruments for all four girls, they will probably come with plenty of other accessories like changeable faces.

Don’t have any nendoroid figures as they haven’t been my particular style, but these “K-ON!” ones seem quite tempting. Wonder if they’ll make an Azusa nendoroid figure as well.

Wave Corporation Yui and Mio

Wave Corporation displayed unpainted prototypes of bikini clad Mio and Yui figures for their beach queens figure series. They seem to only be in 1/10 scale though.

Not very familiar with Wave Corporation’s work and don’t own any of their figures so not sure how these will turn out.
Interesting that they will also create bikini figures of Nanoha and Fate from “Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha Strikers” in their beach queens series.

You can see more photos of the WonFes 2009 event at AkibaHobby, Hobbystock and Danny Choo.

I’m picking up Alter Yui and maybe the nendo one as well. While I would love to get either the scale or nendo set, there’s many others I want to consider first.

Yes, the joy of these upcoming release alas comes with the terrifying realization this is going to hurt the sparse anime budget quite badly. >_<
Definitely want Mio and Yui, and if they make Azusa, Tsumugi and Ritsu will probably get those too though may have to pass on some… will see.

Yeah, there's quite a bit of figures out there, I've already cut down to 6 pre-orders but afraid I'll have to cut down further.

Don’t care much for the figures, but those tiny guitars look excellent in terms of quality :p

Yes, if the guitars and instruments look that well finished on the main production run figures, they’ll be quite stunning. ^^
    @ ユキ
I love how Mio and Yui nendoroids have those little guitars and even the tiny amplifiers, Ritsu’s drums et looks quite good as well. For nendoroids they seem to come well accessoried.
