Kanamemo sketches by Gofu

August 8, 2009

Seem to share similar taste in anime series with Gofu, spotted this talented artist recently created some “Kanamemo” sketch art illustrations.

Ever since I first saw Gofu’s illustrations, adored the typical black and white sketches this artist creates.

Lovely sketch of Kana, her about to cry face is so irresistibly cute. Always impressed how Gofu captures the essential elements of the characters through an expressive pose or their facial traits.

There’s something different about such illustrations with that unique atmosphere of pencil line art, creates a nice contrast to more commonly seen intricately colored illustrations from other artists.

Mika looks hilarious in this illustration, can just imagine Rie Kugimiya’s voice accompany it by reciting typical tsundere lines.

Fantastic how those sketch lines not only form shapes and expressions but also create dynamic shading.

While Gofu also made a sketch of Saki, think this one of Hinata is actually a lot nicer, drew her with such a kind and warm smile.
Although the image lacks any color, due to Hinata’s expression it has have a definite warmth to it.

Always look forward to visiting Gofu’s homepage every so often to see what nice new illustrations this artist created and rejoice in discovering what cute characters were treated to the pencil sketch style.
