Yuri in Hayate No Gotoku

Catching up with the latest few “Hayate No Gotoku!!” episodes, delighted to see that the lack of trap Hayate scenes was balanced by some implied yuri scenes between Hinagiku and Ayumu.

Struggling with their respective feelings for Hayate, as the two girls come face to face in the onsen, does the spark of true love finally ignite between them?

When Hinagiku and Ayumu’s deep amber eyes meet and the girls gaze at each other, do they realize that these feelings between them are meant to be?

Just couldn’t help myself there. Quite funny scenes, immensely enjoyed them. What made them even more hilarious was the dialogue exchange between Ayumu and Hinagiku.

Especially when Hinagiku awakens on Ayumu’s lap after having fainted from a heat stroke, their conversation full of implicit lines that made Hinagiku blush beet red had me laughing through my tears.

Complimenting Hinagiku’s smooth skin, Ayumu does not hide her admiration for the tsundere student council president’s slender body to which she was able to feast her eyes on moments before.

Fearing this will now prevent her from marrying, Hinagiku’s heart skips a beat when the happy-go-lucky Ayumu says that in that case, she’ll just take her.
Simply priceless.

Obviously these scenes were added for their comedic value and to tease fans who are more inclined to the shoujo-ai or yuri genre, to which I am no stranger, but that didn’t make them any less enjoyable, quite the contrary.

Having received a lot of focus and character development in the first part of this second series, Hinagiku quickly became one of my favourite “Hayate No Gotoku!!” characters where she didn’t rank at the top before.

Also glad they’re doing some nice things with Ayumu, she’s a cute character and always thought it a shame that she was usually used as a plot device character with little background. At least now she’s starting to become a character in her own right.
