Amanchu! volume 2 out soon

January 24, 2010

Often receive mail from Amazon Japan featuring their advertised sales or personal recommendations for items one may be interested in based on previous purchases.

The message that arrived in my mailbox today advertised the second volume of “Amanchu!”, the current manga by Amano Kozue (天野 こずえ), who is best known for having created “Aria”.

Currently up for pre-order at Amazon Japan, the new tankoubon is already due out on February 10. This volume sports a lovely cover art of Futaba, whom I’ve come to adore, her character was fleshed out a lot these last few chapters.

Previously bought “Amanchu!” volume one, so will definitely pick up this new volume as well as order the remaining “Aria” manga volumes in original Japanese.

I hope this gets as much success as Aria did, I have been following the scanlation from http://amanocentricscans.blogspot.com/ and its great.

It’s a great manga indeed, after having read the scanlations when the manga started I decided to pick up the original Japanese release because it’s definitely worth it and it’s good reading practice.

I really love this series. I really wish I could budget for the huge shipping costs. >_< I guess I should just try to order a whole lot of things at once so it doesn't seem so bad. ^^…

The cover art looks great! I love scuba, and I love Amano-sensei's art so of course I love this! ^^ I read some interview she did a while back about how she's really into scuba IRL and how she was working on getting some new level of certification or something, which just makes this more awesome. ^^

This artist and this manga needs more recognition. I love the artwork and the characters in Amanchu.

Yes, the shipping fees are significant alas, but for manga issues alone if buying several it’s doable due to the size.
Not much into diving myself but love how Amano Kozue really sucks you into that world and make sit a magical, wondrous place.

Have actually managed to make some people enthusiastic about her work and reading it as some of their first forages into manga. Most observe how they love how she draws girls, feminine, yet nothing like how they’re portrayed in usual shonen or shoujo manga.
