The despair of Kinoshita Hideyoshi
Barely had I recovered from last week’s episode of “Baka To Test To Shoukanjuu” which brought us not merely hilarious scenes but great fanservice with Hideyoshi, that this week’s episode delivered nothing less than a fatal blow by featuring the green eyed beauty in scenes which can only be defined using exponential superlatives.
Treading the well known path of a summer pool episode which by universally recognized and applied law must include fanservice scenes featuring the series’ cute maidens in swimsuit or bikini, “Baka To Test To Shoukanjuu” sees its cute leading ladies Himeji and Minami relegated to mere supporting roles.
The sole, irresistibly gorgeous star in this episode is none other than Hideyoshi! From the very first minute much is ado about Hideyoshi joining the gang in their day at the pool, even getting new swimwear to show off in.
And show off Hideyoshi does! Not only leading to the swift death of Akihisa and Kouta due to fatal blood loss induced by chronic explosive bloodnose at the sight of Hideyoshi in swimwear, but Himeji, Minami and Shouko clearly feel threatened by Hideyoshi’s irresistible allure.
As if that did not suffice, Hideyoshi is subjected to loosing the top part of that brand new swimwear, baring more than the audience could ever take which minutes later is surpassed by a steaming hot bath scene showcasing every inch of the green eyed beauty.
Having survived this episode only thanks to sheer willpower to overcome the fatal amounts of lost blood which flowed copiously from my nose, the only conclusion left is that surely the secret plot in “Baka To Test To Shoukanjuu” is to make us believe Hideyoshi is male.
Though the truth is plain for all to see! Like the other characters acknowledge, being as cute and feminine as Hideyoshi is, surely Hideyoshi could not be anything else but female.
Now for a serious observation (my above ramblings and this posts closing comment are meant to be interpreted in humorous fashion) while I did tremendously enjoy this “Baka To Test To Shoukanjuu” episode, it was mostly because of Hideyoshi’s irresistible cuteness, since it largely carried the entire episode in my viewing experience.
While there were a few key scenes that had the same poignant humor and great mix we saw in previous episodes, felt this week just didn’t reach the same level as last week and relegated too much on tried and true formula we see in a dozen series each season.
Without further ado I shall go pound my head against the wall as else I simply cannot survive Hideyoshi’s sheer cuteness which has me spiral down from mere denial into despair of startlingly psychologically unhealthy proportions.
