K-ON!! Tachibana Himeko yuri pairing?

May 1, 2010

Seems that since the “K-ON!!” school trip to Kyoto episode, Pixiv artists have linked the increasingly popular background character Tachibana Himeko, to another girl.

Several nice illustrations have coupled the girl that sits next to Yui to one of her classmates, a short haired girl who so far is identified as 集合写真左下の子, the girl on the lower left in the class photo.

A cute image by 狛猫 (Pixiv), it features the girls glancing at each other.

Shown sitting together on the shinkansen to Kyoto after already they sat next to each other for the class photo, looks like such short scenes are enough for artists to fire up Photoshop or Sai. Cannot deny though that being prone to the yuri genre, do like these illustrations.

An illustration by faith (Pixiv), this artist created several images of these two side characters together.

Images that exhale an atmosphere more akin to that of “Maria-sama Ga Miteru” where the bonds of close friendship between characters are more prominent than any explicit yuri overtones.

Cute artwork by 空と海 (Pixiv) showing the girls linking their arms together. Do adore Himeko’s style with those loose white socks.

Actually 空と海 ‘s profile has plenty of “K-ON!!” illustrations, including this one that features Himeko and more of the background characters.

Another illustration by faith (Pixiv) that shows the two girls walking together, apparently having bought おみやげ (souvenirs).

With that wooden sword, would they portray the girl on the lower left in the class photo as more of a serious, reserved, kendo style character? That would balance the more fashionable Himeko quite nicely.

Whether any of those background characters will receive substance in the anime series remains to be seen, but I do already applaud Kyoto Animation for taking such care in animating the けいおん girls’ classmates with such consistent design.

Shoujo-ai spinoff? “K-ON! no minna ga miteru”? It’d work! XD

im sure that after comiket there will be tons of doujisnhi on those two! lol

I find it funny and interesting how people are giving life to those background characters – I wonder if Kyoani will in fact, after seeing the fans’ reaction, give even some fanservice in the form of some extra lines or appearances of the “girl who sits next to Yui” and co.

By the way, is it official that their school is an all girls school? Because I don’t remember ever seeing a boy there. Or maybe is it a post-apocalyptic world where the Fourth Impact wiped out most of the male population?

Will be looking forward to any nice doujinshi!
Do think their school was said to be an all girls school, yes.

I'm not too fond of the other girl, but then again, I've there have only been a few glances at her.

Indeed, she hasn’t been show much at all. Will see what future episodes may bring.
Not sure that’ll be in the cards… even doubt we’ll get Sawako, Nodoka or Ui figures.
    Can’t deny that! ^^

I suppose it makes more sense along the lines of pair the spares then Himeko/Yui which just came about because she sat next to her.
