Orchid macro

July 24, 2010

What with all the Dollfie Dream photo shenanigans of these past weeks and having gone out to indulge in more DD photography earlier today, do feel keen to capture some beautiful flowers in front of the camera lens again.

Though with July having had several consecutive days of scorching hot weather without rain, noticed many flowers have wilted or taken a battering.

Still hope to head out one of these days for more flower photography.

In the meantime, uploaded some photos had previously made of some gorgeous Orchids using my Canon 100mm macro lens.

Actually shot these around the same time as I photographed these white Orchids, snapped all the shots outdoors during a bright sunny day which creates a really smashing and colorful impression of these flowers.

There’s something unique about photographing such orchids in bright sunlight, the flower petals seem to sparkle, filled with tiny specks that reflect the light, quite wondrous to see.

There’s a few more photos of these Orchids to be found on my Flickr Orchid photo set.

Actually would be tricky to do with Orchids as their specific shape means the suitable angles to get the flower itself is smaller than with other flowers.
