Daisy and fly

Out and about with my DSLR equipped with macro lens yesterday, snapped a few simple photos of some daisies in the sun, including these daisies (aka bellis perennis) where a fly was busy scurrying across one of the flowers.

Thanks to the abundant sunlight, was able to make these shots freehand, combining an aperture of f/5 and a shutter time of 1/250.

Stopping down to f/11 increased the shutter time too much to get stable shots without a tripod and the stiff breeze.

Considering the breeze shook the flowers, tested the AI Servo setting where instead usually use the one shot focus setting, managed to get some sharp results.

Have been reading positive user experiences on the Canon 7D. Am tempted to upgrade my 450D, though considering the price tag of the 7D might better hold off the expenditure until my 450D has lived through its lifespan.
