Shizuko and Yoko snapshots
Wanted to showcase some of the latest photos made of Dollfie Dream ball jointed dolls Shizuko and Yoko.
The first few photos had Shizuko and Yoko holding some small flowers, took those on one of the last warm days with lots of sunshine that we had here.
Had terrific indirect daylight which created perfect neutral lighting and it looks like the Canon 50mm f/1.4 lens really performs great under those circumstances as it captured the colors and scene quite wonderfully.
Used some Volks Mist spray to style Yoko’s bangs, which makes them more manageable as they now keep their styling position without having to be brushed back between photos.
Care often for the wigs and use a bit of Wig Oil to treat them, it allows the wig to keep a smoother, healthier shine as well as make them less prone to collect dust.
Attempted to create a more vintage feeling with this black and white photo, used the Monochrome option from the Canon 450D Picture Style menu, bumped up the ISO to 1600 to get a more grainy effect and added a bit of vignetting in Adobe Lightroom.
Trying this new skirt on Yoko somehow ended up posing her this way. Is she pretending to be a ballerina or making a formal bow as in known courtesy now long gone? Who knows…
Also had some fun tying her hair in a side pony tail.
Shizuko is sporting a new turtleneck sweater dress which is a more refined look for her. Quite satisfied with the colors of these last two shots. Took some time to set a custom white balance which paid off rather well.
You can always see more Dollfie Dream photography on Flickr.

haha, gotta love how dollfies tend to pose naturally without trying too hard x3 like that yoko photo, as you said, the ballerina pose wasn’t quite intended, but it just came out great with that outfit !
