More Nanao K-ON!! Image Song Cover Art

October 28, 2010

Artist Nanao (ななお, Pixiv) previously produced terrific own renditions of the cover art style used for the けいおん Character Image Song discs and has done so again.

This time the illustrations are in the same art style that was used in the official cover art images for the Character Image Song singles for “K-ON!!”, the anime’s second season.

Do like how the artist applied their own unique style to create these illustrations. Small details like the hairdo, facial expressions enable these particular images to bring a whole new look and atmosphere.

Cannot hide my favoring Azusa so had to start off with her illustration, which sees her sport a nice alternate hair style. Wonder if that hairpin is a gift from Yui?

When the first season of the anime adaptation started to air, for quite some time Ritsu did not seem to get much attention from artists and fans alike.

Though even back then one could spot good artworks of her here and there. Luckily now there are plenty more great illustrations of her, such as this one.

Tsumugi looks as elegant and feminine as ever, as does Mio. Always amazing to see how artists can capture so much of a characters’ aura with simple strokes, colors or using facial expressions and poses.

Like what Nanao did with Mio’s hair in this illustration, perhaps that’s what’s most striking about this series of images, the alternate hair styling.

A nice touch is how Yui’s pose actually links up with that of Ui, which you can check out on Nanao’s Pixiv page.

Indeed, Nanao achieves to render each girl in a cute style where many artists favor but one or two.

Oooh wow, I really love this set. The vector work and colors are sooo gorgeous. Mio looks amazing!! Actually they all do.

The name tattoos are also a beautiful touch.

Love these even though they’re inspired on the regular covers. There’s some great “K-ON!” art out there. ^^
