Nodoka style by Manatsu
Had previously shown art by 碇 マナツ (Pixiv) while showcasing images of Tachibana Himeko.
This artist with a nice crisp style seems to create quite a bit of “K-ON!” themed illustrations, often using a specific theme for a series of images such as suits, sailor uniforms or in this case, having the けいおん girls wear Nodoka’s glasses.
Starting with this lovely illustration of Houkago Tea Time’s bass player Azusa, striking a very determined looking pose. Is it perhaps the effect of Nodoka’s glasses?
Couldn’t omit this image of Shizuka, one of the light music club girls’ classmates from class 3-2. Love the combination of her pose, wink and blushing face, excellent in its cuteness and simplicity.
Ritsu too is looking quite serious and determined, it really must be the effect of Nodoka’s glasses!
Always admire how some artists can accurately capture the essence of characters and render them so spot on, even imbuing them with characteristics they’re not immediately obviously portrayed with in the source material.
Who can resist blushing, moe girls? The earlier illustration of Shizuka was quite cute, but her shy-to-a-fault classmate Akiyo looks just as cute! Or would she herself rather say she looks interesting?
Closing off with this illustration of Mio, reminiscent of how she was shown in the first opening animation sequence of “K-ON!!” wearing Nodoka’s glasses which has no doubt inspired the artist.
You can see more of the Nodoka glasses series by 碇 マナツ on Pixiv.
Ah… I really despise Nodoka glasses. 😦 Shizuka is super cute in that illustration though.
Hnggg really adorable!
@Yi
Well there are indeed more stylish model glasses than those, but I love seeing all the characters rendered wearing them as it also shows how with this art style such a simple accessory can become a defining trait.
@Sergio
They’re irresistibly cute aren’t they?
