Cat’s eyes
Even before acquiring Dollfie Dream Yoko, always thought the lively yellow hue of her oval shaped animetic eyes made them look rather cat like (others seem to think so too). A trait fitting the playful smile Volks crafted into her facial sculpt.
Although adore Yoko’s look in the long haired dark brown model wig from Leeke have her usually displayed with, felt like trying something else.
Still have a nice light brown twin tail model wig, decided to try its center piece on Yoko, the twin tails being convenient clip-on parts that can be easily removed. After having the long haired dark brown wig on Yoko for so long, seeing her with such a short do felt unfamiliar, unsettling almost.
Though once had styled the wig and posed Yoko in the path of the setting sun that poured its light through the blinds got a mesmerizing result. Especially adore the way the light enhanced her animetic eyes.
Tried on some of the Nine9Style gear that recently arrived but didn’t achieve the look I had hoped for, so opted for a simple yet cute outfit from Cool Cat instead.
Will need to look out for some pants, skirts or leggings that fit DDDy. Many garments from Nine9Style or other brands originally for SD that also fit DDII do not always fit DDDy properly.
Did order a few new wigs at Leeke from their winter limited colors collection but seems those won’t be shipped out for a while.
Am looking forward to seeing their ‘brown carrot’ and ‘champagne brown’ colors in person, the photos displayed on their website looked quite promising.
Looking at these shots am quite satisfied with how the wig looks on Yoko, it’s a totally different aura for her, but I like it.
Quite glad opted to invest in the Canon 50mm f/1.4 prime lens last year, it’s not only tack sharp but perfectly suited for such portrait-like photography, near wide open it creates a lovely dreamy effect and achieves shots full of great bokeh.
Saw the light of the setting sun hit this small spot that has corner windows with wooden blinds, realized it was perfect for Dollfie photography. Was limited in the angles could use but am satisfied with the resulting photos.
You can see more Dollfie Dream photography on Flickr.
She’s looking very cute as usual. I really love the shots you got with the shadows from the blinds. Very nice atmosphere.
@Otaku Depot
Thanks. ^^ Good lighting can do so much for photos.
I love the way you used the lighting in this set! The striped shadows on Yoko create a very nice feel.
@Yi
Didn’t notice until later it also fit wore horizontal striped gear. But those wooden Venetian blinds can create lovely light play. Did use similar spot before:

The shadows weren’t as harsh then, they were this time which created a nice effect.
Nice shot! I read somewhere that photography is about balancing time and light, they probably refer to f/stop and shutter but to me it also mean catching the right moment with the appropriate amount of light. Good job~
@Wolfheinrich
Thanks. Yes, capturing a good moment when the light is best can mean so much. With the 50mm prime though at f-stop f/2.2 or f/2.5 with this light could manage shutter speeds of 1/1000, 1/800 quite easily.
Nice pics ^^
@anonymous_object
Thanks. ^^
I know this is super late, but I have the black and white version of this outfit and I was wondering, did yours stain at all?
I’m super paranoid even with the body stocking.
@Annie
With the body stocking it was absolutely safe. I did get one small stain when Shizuko wore it earlier without body stocking but that was when she was posed outside and leaned against something so am not sure if it’s from the outfit or from that outdoor shoot.
