An afternoon in the life of two DD sisters
Being a fan of yuri themed anime and manga such as the excellent “Candy☆Boy” series, enjoyed the yuri atmosphere created with the New Year’s gift photos showcasing DD Yoko and Shizuko together.
Couldn’t resist to revisit this genre and indulged once again in photo shenanigans featuring Dollfie Dream sisters who like Kanade and Yukino from “Candy☆Boy” seem to be rather close.
“恋の形。とあろ二人の昼。”
Classic leg pillow pose with Shizuko resting her head on Yoko’s lap, hope it will convey the mutual affection between them that was hoping to capture.
With early afternoon light pouring in through the window and a lovely boudoir style chair to display the dolls on, had an ideal background setting.
Placing Shizuko’s left hand so as to brush Yoko’s hair or rather as seen above where it reaches for Yoko’s cheek, they’re small changes but they definitely impact on how realistic the pose looks and what atmosphere it may convey.
“お姉ちゃん、ちょっと不安ですけど。”
A slight change in the angle of the photo capture, repositioning the dolls, altering the position of their hands or the direction of their gaze can mean a lot to capture a certain mood or not.
Find a lot of inspiration in the Dollfie photography by other Dollfie Dream owners, many of whom create simply stunning doll photos, excelling in pose, angles, composition… lots I wish to learn from.
Always a joy to see their photos.

After the New Year’s gift snapshots, some inquired as to whether the girls would actually kiss… well, here’s the answer!
“その唇… ”
Opted for a soft dreamy look in this shot by using a wider aperture on the 50mm prime lens that creates a lot of bokeh, all to have the yuri atmosphere built up mostly through suggestion.

Really great shots. I love how well you pose them, it really adds to the feeling of the photos.
Interesting shots you got there 😀 A nich touch to have Shizuko on Yoko’s lap, though Yoko probably have a tough time sitting straight on the chair due to her limitation.

That was a major concern when I thought about the idea. Having Yoko sit in seiza crossed my mind but then the surface to rest Shizuko’s head on would be too slanted.
In the end it was that boudoir style chair that offered the solution. While old it’s never been used much so the pillow slants down to towards the edges quite a lot, you can spot it a bit here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/40588969@N06/5398284666/
Thanks to its edge being that angled, was perfect for the DDDy sitting position.

Beautiful pictures of your two girls, you’ve captured the emotions you wanted to achieve with the poses of these two very well, it really looks like they have feelings for each other =).
Their different looks make a nice contrast in the pictures, the first two pictures are my favorites.
Oh I didn’t know that Candy Boy had some Yuri influence, I can remember that I passed on this show because of the “misleading” title, I was like “what interest do I have in a Candy Boy?” ;D

Oh quite, “Candy☆Boy” is pure yuri genre though the title is indeed misleading. If you like yuri you’ll no doubt love “Candy☆Boy”, it’s funny, lovely and very sweet.
