Atsuko, when she gives you that look

November 17, 2012

After having showcased a series of black and white photos of Tsukiko, it’s now Atsuko’s turn in the spotlights with this photo series.

Originally a Volks DDH06 head but with an altered sculpt and custom face-up, Atsuko has a lovely expression that one simply can’t resist. Am especially satisfied how this particular photo turned out, the pose and angle at which she’s captured seem a perfect fit.

That look

Find that both character and custom Dollfie Dream all seem to have certain angles or poses which suit their expression best.

While it can be challenging to discover these ideal angles or poses, several Dollfie Dream comrades have excelled in doing so for their dolls, making their photography truly inspirational, like eg Haku, Cnvl, 柿樽そよぎ, Vin’s or Azure-TB to name but a few.

That look

These photos were actually taken over half a year ago, to my shame must confess had forgotten about them. Only recently spotted them again in my Adobe Lightroom library, got to work on processing them.
Didn’t apply any special presets or effects, for a more natural look.

Atsuko

Snapped these photos around noon using only daylight filtered through curtains, which created soft, indirect lighting for most of the resulting images.

Although there are a few shots where more bright sunshine created more pronounced highlights and shadows.

Her gaze

Atsuko is sporting a plain white shirt from Nine9Style and blue jeans from Dollmore. While a simple getup, really like this outfit on her so kept her displayed in it for quite some time before decided to change it.

Atsuko

Captured a few shots of Atsuko on using the same staircase as background where previously photographed Kyouko and later also Tsukiko.
