Girls und Panzer OVA & movie announced
Was overjoyed to read the news online that “Girls und Panzer” is not only getting an OVA, but a full length movie too!
Although previously any hints of a sequel to the original season were dismissed by the studio, we will get more “Girls und Panzer” after all! The OVA will portray the Ooarai girls’ battle against Anzio, an event that was never shown in the anime. It has not been stated yet what the film, which is slated for release in 2014, will be about.
Really adore the “Girls und Panzer” anime series, it is a terrific show that offers a well balanced mix of slice-of-life moments showcasing the daily life of these girls, their adventures in 戦車道 (tank club), all mixed with the thrilling action of epic tank battles.
Can hardly wait to see more “Girls und Panzer”, perhaps the upcoming OVA and movie may even lead to a full second season, who knows? In the meantime will only say: ‘Panzer vor!’

It’s interesting to see how Girls & Panzer really brings WWII military into limelight. While I am not big into the characters, there are a lot of WWII and even fictional work (Western and Japanese ones) references thrown in the anime here and there. I’d say they know how to cater different kinds of people 😮
