Henneko manga loot
Recently grabbed volumes 3 and 4 of the “Hentai Ouji To Warawanai Neko” manga. Drawn by Okomeken, the manga art style stays faithful to Kantoku‘s lovely character designs for the original light novels and is a lot of fun to read.
Although I have been enjoying the currently airing “Henneko” anime quite a bit, after six or so episodes it has not really reached the level had hoped it would. Must admit though that my personal expectations of the anime adaptation were perhaps too high to begin with.
JC Staff has been doing terrific work in adapting Kantoku’s character designs into anime form, especially Tsukiko is irresistibly cute, Ogura Yui’s great voice work adds a whole new dimension to the character.
Still, the story and the characters’ silly shenanigans somehow seem to work better and flow more nicely in the manga, whereas the animated version can easily feel too forced.
With the anime having caught up to story timeline where the manga is also at, am curious to discover where the plot will go. Shall undoubtedly enjoy the upcoming “Hentai Ouji To Warawanai Neko” episodes, but I do recommend the manga version over the anime adaptation.
