Ushinawareta Mirai wo Motomete

December 12, 2014

Was keen on watching the anime adaptation of the eroge “失われた未来を求めて” as I have always admired the gorgeous illustrations Kurehito Misaki and Shinobu Kuroya created for this adult visual novel.

Considering the original art’s specific style, was curious how studio Feel would translate the character designs into anime form, but remained hopeful considering their excellent work on “Minami-ke” and “Futsuu no Joshikōsei ga Locodol Yattemita”.

However, feel conflicted about the animation style and quality of “Ushinawareta Mirai wo Motomete”, everything seems rendered in a flat, CGI-like style and feels rather unpolished, the colors too often seem a bit bland. Am unimpressed by studio Feel’s work on this series, it doesn’t look on par with their other achievements.

Even though am not a fan of the typical eroge genre stories, thought I would nonetheless give this anime a chance since the original visual novel does feature dramatic events and its smaller female cast helps lessen the impression of it being a typical harem story.

Still found it difficult to remain interested in this show as the season progressed and have since fallen behind on watching it weekly. Perhaps I might pick it back up one day though.

For those of you looking for a typical harem show, “Ushinawareta Mirai wo Motomete” might be interesting enough, although would advise not to expect too much from this series.
