Yoko in black & white

March 6, 2015

On a gorgeous afternoon when the setting sun cast lovely bright rays of light through the window blinds, set up my camera and enjoyed snapping some photos of Dollfie Dream Yoko posed on the Shibata Chair No.5 by Volks.

Unfortunately felt dissatisfied with many of the resulting photos, am not that accustomed yet to the Sony A7 and had missed setting the correct exposure for quite a few shots. Hence, decided to processed the best raw captures into black and white and additionally used some custom presets in Adobe Lightroom to adjust the overall lighting look.

Yoko in black & white

Might not be noticeable due to these being in black and white, but have switched out Yoko’s original Volks eyes for a new pair of yellow eyes from Tortei (Kari) which look absolutely great on her.
Will share some color photos soon.

The striped off-shoulder dress is a simple but useful fashion item got a few years ago from Cool Cat.

sometimes black and white can be the best outcome for a photo such as this one. The Rays off light is more visible as you can see it project onto yoko’s face. It’s more like the first Rays of the early mornings. Nice!
