New K-ON! Album Cover Art?

July 28, 2009

Going through some “K-ON!” images online, spotted these that look like they might very well be the cover art illustrations to be used on the no doubt upcoming Character Image Song albums for Azusa, Tsumugi and Ritsu.

They’re in the exact same style as the cover illustrations of the Character Image Song albums for Mio and Yui that have already been released some time ago.

Adorable illustration of Azusa. Typical surprised facial expression for the twin tailed guitar player that is somewhat reminiscent of how she appeared in the opening sequence.

You can also see these terrific vector illustrations by artist Nanao who rendered all the light music club girls in a similar style as in the existing Character Image Song illustrations of Yui and Mio.

Am pretty convinced these particular ones here aren’t by Nanao though as they’re too different.

Do prefer this version of Tsumugi over Nanao’s illustration, they’re both great but feel that here Tsumugi’s expression is more spot on, fitting her ladylike aura from the series better.

All these illustrations feature some kind of accessory on the girls to illustrate the instrument the play.
Was looking for Ritsu’s instrument accessory so was quite surprised to see her drummer persona is represented by the cute cymbal shaped earrings, a nice detail.

Do wonder if these are really official images or another artist creation as haven’t seen these albums or their cover art at the “K-ON!” website so far, maybe they’ll appear there soon?

As it is, looking forward to Azusa’s Character Image Song album.
