Farewell to autumn
With the winter season and first snow upon us, what better to bid the autumn season farewell by reminiscing on some captures of its unique beauty?
Some of the hikes I took on the final days off had in late November took me back to forests had previously already visited, but ventured on different routes.
One such route was the “Vijf Eiken Wandeling” in the forest of Heverlee. Translated as ‘walk of five oaks’ its one of the longer but well marked hikes through that forest, a very enjoyable walk when the weather is good.
Noticed most deciduous trees had shed nearly all their leaves by then, transitioning into their barren appearance of winter.
Luckily did find spots where the typical fall scenery with trees adorned in yellow and orange leaves could still be seen.
Having shot these photos using the Canon 450D free hand with auto focus, wonder if I shouldn’t try using a tripod and manual focus next time. Though carrying a tripod around in the woods might not always be so practical.

It’s always nice to go to the great outdoor to draw some inspiration!

It is! Can’t wait for the weather to be sunny again. ^^
Such beautiful scenery. I live in the city now, so I don’t get to enjoy such beauty, but your photos are lovely~ I should take a hiking trip sometime before winter comes in full.
