Yuru Yuri San Hai!
ゆるゆりさんハイ始まるよー! Already the third season of the anime adaptation of Namori’s comedy manga, the events in “Yuru Yuri San Hai!” follow directly after the two episode “Yuru Yuri Nachuyachumi!+” anime that aired this summer.
Fans will rejoice as “Yuru Yuri San Hai!” is off to a good start, bringing us the typical slice-of-life school setting comedy and suggestive shoujo-ai this franchise is known for and excels at.
Noticed that the four girls of the student council were prominently featured and had plenty of airtime in this first episode, something which I can appreciate as the larger group’s dynamic, its potential for gags, suggestive yuri situations and other shenanigans only increases when Ayano, Chitose, Sakurako and Himawari join the main cast of Yui, Kyouko, Akari and Chinatsu.
Judging by the opening sequence and the fact Sakurako’s younger sister Hanako appeared in this first episode, we might see the various girls’ siblings appear more throughout this third season. Am quite keen on discovering what sillyness and hilarious situations girls like Chizuru, Akane or Kaede may cause.
The animation by studio TYO Animations was quite good, especially when considering the more simple design style of this show. Am glad there’s a definite sense of contunuity between their animation style and studio Dogakobo’s earlier work on the first two seasons.
Can’t wait for next week’s episode! You can watch “Yuru Yuri San Hai!” on Crunchyroll.
