Tamayura ~hitotose~ OVA/BluRay special

The seventh BluRay volume of “Tamayura ~hitotose~” contained an all new episode of this lovely slice-of-life series, telling a heart warming story of Fuu and her friends attending the Hinamatsuri festival fireworks.

Although it had been released a while ago, only watched this OVA episode today and what a great treat it was! The enchanting background of Takehara city in Hiroshima, the endearing characters, the relaxing soundtrack and excellent slice-of-life atmosphere really make this a terrific show.

Quite enjoyed seeing more of Fuu’s journey, a girl rediscovering joy in life and capturing every day miracles through photography using her late father’s Rolei 35S. While that starting point of “Tamayura ~hitotose~” may seem rather heavy, the story, its characters and Junichi Sato’s directing turn it into a warm tale full of happiness.

This is an excellent series that I recommend to all, most definitely to those of you who like the slice-of-life genre shows like “Aria” or “Sketchbook ~full color’S~”.
With the earlier announced second season of “Tamayura ~hitotose~” tentatively slated to air in 2013, after watching this new OVA episode I can hardly wait for that second season to arrive!
