Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou anime announced

March 11, 2015

Spotted news online that the seventh volume of “モンスター娘のいる日常” by Okayado has announced that an anime adaptation of the ecchi harem manga will air later this summer.
Must confess that have been indulging myself in the guilty pleasure that is the “Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou” manga and have been following it for a while.

Usually am thrilled to see good manga adapted into anime form -still hoping for anime versions of “Himawari-san” or “Yotsuba&”- but unfortunately am not convinced that the “Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou” manga will transition well into anime.

“Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou” is an enjoyable read if you are looking for a comedy harem story with a ridiculous premise, plenty of ecchi scenes and cute but quirky monster girls.

However, my personal experience on seeing similar manga adapted into anime is not that positive, “To Love RU” comes to mind, the perfect example of a harem manga with terrific art, all the typical genre tropes and ecchi events, that alas lost most of its appeal when translated in anime form.

While I do recommend the “Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou” manga to those of you looking for an ecchi harem story to read, am not too sure yet about an anime.

    I dropped this at around the place where Slime appeared. Authors themselves admitted that they had no clue what to do with the characters, and it was a long stretch “let’s post one more chapter and hope we won’t get cancelled”. I don’t know if they eventually straightened it out.

    Actually they introduced even more new characters. ^^;;
    While the latest addition Lala is (again) a bit superficial and just stretching the story, Rachnera actually is a more interesting character though.
    It’s not a stellar manga with deep, intriguing characters by any means, but it’s a fun, guilty pleasure manga to enjoy reading once in a while. ^^
